Night Ride at Green Mountain

I (Ben) had my first adventure with mountain biking at night last Thursday. Trevor let me tag along with him and borrow a headlight which is supposed to prevent death. It did its job. Unfortunately, I was trying out a new set of clipless pedals I had gotten for my birthday (I know, that was a long time ago, but I don't get out that much any more - too many kids!). I had tried them out in the neighborhood, riding in the grass and simulating crashes - making sure I could get my feet unclipped when I needed. I did good in the grass simulation. Not so good on the mountain. Needless to say, I had a few new scrapes and bruises when all was said and done. Sadly enough, most of the falls were when I'd catch up to Trevor, stop, and then fall over when I couldn't get my foot out. Fortunately it was completely dark so no one else got to see and laugh. But the view of the city lights was good and we had a lot of fun. There were areas of snow on the trail and puddles. It was nice to get out and get a little muddy. In the last picture you can see behind me some small lights - those are deer eyes. (If you can see them...) Trevor almost ran over about 15 deer as he came around the corner. They apparently didn't want to stick around and pose for the picture.

Easter 2

I had the tradition, which I'm sure most do, of getting an Easter dress every year. Just an excuse to buy a new dress for church. But I decided to keep it going for Tatum, so here she is wearing her new dress. The boys get left out- they aren't as fun to dress up and just wear hand me downs- so they didn't get a picture! We'll post some fun pics of them soon...

Easter...

Happy Easter!! We got to celebrate today with the Family we have in CO. I decided we are going to be very lonely in Oklahoma since we won't have any cousins/aunts/ uncles/ to see or get together with. So even though it was a very short visit- it is so nice to get together with them and get out of the house. It is especially great because they are all so willing to help out with the babies so we can still have a good time. Lindsay is holding Lincoln, I'm glad she likes the Tankster. And then we also celebrated Val's birthday.... coming on Monday!! Hopefully the
Carter's first Easter and loved the Bunny Ears!!

Fun Carter Fact

For some strange reason Carter has this fetish about covering his face. He usually has a bib in since he is our leaky faucet, and with that he'll stick his hands together and push that in his face. But without the bib he will find a burp cloth, rag, blanket, toy- whatever to smother him. It always makes your heart skip a beat when you walk in on him sleeping and his face is completely covered, but that is just the way he likes it. We love our little Cart Dog....
